Dr. Luciano Paolinelli has been appointed as the project leader of the Water Wetting Joint Industry Project. Dr. Paolinelli's education includes a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Materials Science in 2010, both from the University of Mar del Plata, Argentina. Prior to Luciano joining the ICMT he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at LABMEX at INTEMA-CONICET in Argentina from 2011 to 2012. As a researcher, his research topics included the development of enhanced and new methods for fracture toughness measurement of metallic materials by means of optical displacement measurements. Currently at the ICMT, Luciano's research interests include corrosion of carbon and low-alloy steels in CO2 and H2S containing aqueous environments, corrosion inhibition, effect of surfactants on water-wetting, flow-mechanics, fluid-wall interaction, mechanical integrity of corrosion product layers, as well as surface engineering.
