Dr. Yves Gunaltun receives the ICMT Senior Research Fellowship Award - March 3, 2016
The ICMT Senior Research Fellowship Award is given to outstanding contributors in the field of corrosion and protection, who have also made a mark on the growth and development of the ICMT over the past 20 years. Dr. Nesic said that he cannot think of anyone else who has deserved this award more than Dr. Yves Gunaltun. Dr. Gunaltun has initiated research project at the ICMT in the mid-nineties and has never stopped helping guide and grow the research at the ICMT ever since. He was instrumental in ensuring continuing support by Total but has also helped attract other companies to our research programs, such as PTTEP, Thailand, Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi and others. It is also well known that Dr. Gunaltun is the “father” of so called Top Of Line Corrosion (TLC). He has been instrumental in making the corrosion community become aware of this problem, address it and find solutions for it. Our own TLC project first sponsored by Dr. Gunaltun in 1997 is still active and has helped put ICMT on the world map.
